Today’s episode is one we chose to remind everyone that it’s never too late to receive justice. More importantly, it shows how one crime or act of violence can ripple through a family and change everyone’s life forever. 
 
Sonia was a beautiful, self sufficient, single mother. When she came home from dropping her daughter off at school she was attacked, abused and murdered. 
 
Police thought they knew who killed her but a jury wasn’t so sure. It would take over 40 years for detectives to have the answers they needed. In that time a killer was free and a family were torn apart by accusations, doubts and grief. At the center of it all is a void that no one could fill and a daughter who needed answers.

Episode 12 - Jennifer Schuett

Today’s episode is a little different from cases we have covered before. Yes it’s devastatingly horrific. Yes, it’s a crime committed by an absolute animal. But no, his victim doesn’t die. This is a SURVIVAL tale. 
Little Jennifer Schuett endured horrors you can’t even imagine but she was strong. She fought for justice, for 20 years she would push to show she was stronger than the psychopath who hurt her. She wouldn’t rest until he was off the streets and unable to hurt anyone else.

Episode 11 - Lisa Ann French.

We say this all the time but this episode really is very disturbing. It made our hearts ache and we cried together while talking about little 9 year old Lisa.
On October 31st 1973 she did what all children do, she went out trick-or-treating in her neighborhood. When she failed to return as expected, her mother wasted no time getting police and locals to search for her. Unfortunately she would cross paths with a psychotic pedophile before they could find her. 
This man is a monster and what Lisa endured is beyond horrific. His actions have resulted in new rules and laws in Fond Du Lac and the state of Wisconsin as a whole and they are still being followed to this day.

Episode 10 - Peter Tobin.

If I picture the monster under the bed, I see this guys face. Today’s episode covers the life and crimes of Peter Tobin, a Scottish born sadistic, psychopath who killed at least 3 young women.  
His cruelty was extensive and abhorrent. This particular episode does have a warning for content that some may find disturbing.

Episode 9 - The Aberfan Disaster

On The 21st of October, just after school had begun. A spoil tip from the coal mine above the village of Aberfan, in Wales, began to slide down the mountain and into the two schools below.
The devastation was complete and the town, and country, were changed forever. It is one of the worst mining disasters the world has ever seen, and it still holds the record for the most devastating event, involving children, in UK history. 
The story is heartbreaking but the frustration and grief the families felt was made worse by the lack of accountability of those who could have stopped it from happening in the first place. Corruption, government coverups and trauma abound in this story.
We recorded this a while ago but held it back to come out just 4 days before the 59th anniversary of the fateful event. Lest we forget.

Episode 8 - The Sunderland Strangler.

In today’s episode we cover the murders committed by the despicable, sadistic, Sunderland Strangler. This evil s.o.b could have, and should have been caught earlier. Unfortunately there was a lack of interest or effort from the police and it would take 4 deaths before this murderer was arrested for his crimes. 
This one infuriated us and our hearts ache for the families who fought so hard to get justice for their boys and to ensure a serial killer was taken off of their streets.

Episode 7 - The Legend of Sawney Bean and the MacKenzie Poltergeist

Happy fall y’all! Episode 7 is here for your earballs. It’s the first of two Halloween themed episodes coming to you this month because we love spooky season!
Today’s stories, yes there are two for you to enjoy, are spooky and eerie. The first was the inspiration for Wes Cravens, ‘The Hills Have Eyes’, the tale of Sawney Bean. 
The second is the story of what many believe is the most dangerous spirit in the UK, Edinburgh’s MacKenzie Poltergeist.
You will hear me sing, (don’t let that put you off), my mum laugh till she cries, lots of Scottish words, exorcisms, deaths, a little history and, of course, gore and murder.

Episode 6 - Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom

In today’s episode we are covering the truly horrendous, vicious, violent and senseless murders of Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom.
It boggles my mind that I hadn’t heard about this case before and, fair warning, it’s not an easy one to hear about. I literally lost sleep over it. Those who carried out the attacks were cruel and evil beyond measure. 
I took solace in the actions the families took to ensure their children were remembered and to help others in the future. 
This episode was recorded before some others you’ve already heard. We were still working on our sound. Sorry if it’s not as good quality as others you have heard. We have it perfected now.

Episode 5 - Dana Sue Gray

Hello again Grievous Bodily fam! Today we are bringing you the disturbing case of Dana Sue Gray. A woman who enjoyed a hands on approach to killing. She targeted the elderly so fair warning, it’s a tough one. Over the span of only a month, this woman would kill 3 older ladies and almost take the life of a 4th victim.  
 
Oblivious to anything but her need for control, money and her anger over perceived injustices made to her, she was determined to ruin as many lives as possible. She was a narcissist, a serial killer and incredibly violent so go in prepared.

Episode 4 - Sarah Cherry

There’s no two ways about it, this is a chilling case. It involves crimes against a child so please know that going in.
 
It’s full of twists, turns and you will be questioning, not just how the evidence was handled but also the trial.  Hold on to your butts people and prepare your earballs for a twisted tale that has left many people unnerved and possibly left a young girl without the justice she deserves.
